The HP ProLiant BL is designed for optimal performance in enterprise data center environments, with features and options needed for a virtual machine host. Support for up to 128GB of memory is made possible by the use of 16 DIMM slots. Improved performance in virtual environments is provided by the use of AMD Virtualization technology, and the support for up to two AMD Opteron™ 2300 Series processors.

Industry leading embedded health management, and remote control are provided by the included ProLiant Onboard Administrator which are standard on all ProLiant BL blades. HP Power Regulator and HP Insight Control suite are also included as part of the standard management tools. A dual port 10GbE Multifunction controller provides high performance network performance.
