The ProCurve Switch 2600 series consists of multi-layer, stackable, low-cost, managed switches, with either 24, or 48 auto-sensing 10/100 ports. Both configurations include two dual-personality 10/100/1000 ports or mini-GBIC slots. Uninterrupted power is provided by utilizing the optional external redundant power supply.

The ProCurve Switch 2600 series are IEEE 802.3af-compliant, for providing Power over Ethernet with up to 15.4 W per port. This allows the switches to power IP phones, Web cameras, wireless access points, and more. Low-latency throughput is handled by the wire-speed non-blocking architecture, based on either a 9.6 Gbps or 13.6 Gbps backplane.

Standard support is included for up to six trunks, with up to 8 links per trunk, by utilizing the IEEE 802.3ad Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) and ProCurve trunking throughout the entire ProCurve Switch 2600 series. Increased network uptime is achieved through the use of the IEEE 802.1w Rapid Convergence Spanning Tree Protocol, which enables faster recovery from failed links.
