 The HP ProCurve Switch 2810 Series is made up of two switches with a shallow, 1U form factor, that makes them ideal for installation in smaller wiring closets. Two different port configurations are available in the series, a 24 port model with 20 10/100/1000 ports, and a 48 port model with 44 10/100/1000 ports. Both configurations feature 4 dual-personality ports supporting RJ-45 10/100/1000or mini-GBIC fiber Gigabit connectivity.

Advanced traffic-monitoring capabilities, access security, and advanced prioritization, make the HP ProCurve Switch 2810 Series a cost-effective solution for high-performance and secure 10/100/1000 connectivity. High link availability is provided by using an IEEE 802.1s Multiple Spanning Tree, which allows multiple spanning trees, in multiple VLAN environments. Automatic learning and dynamic assignment of VLANs is handled by the GARP VLAN Registration Protocol.

The HP ProCurve Switch 2810 Series is capable of handling up to ten times the low-latency throughput, by utilizing either a 35.7 Mbps at 64 bytes, or 71.4 Mbps at 64 bytes backplane. All transmitted data is encrypted using Secure Shell (SSHv2), to allow secure, remote command-line interface (CLI) access. By utilizing the ProCurve/IEEE Auto-MDIX, all RJ-45 ports are capable of automatically detecting whether a straight-through or crossover cable is being used.
