The HP ProCurve Switch 3400cl Series are standards-based Layer 3 switches available in 24 or 48 port configurations, with stacking capability, and optional 10-Gigabit uplinks. Connectivity is enhanced through the use of Auto-MDIX to automatically detect whether a straight-through or crossover cable is being used.

The HP ProCurve Switch 3400cl Series switches utilize either 88 Gbps or 136 Gbps backplane, to provide up to ten times the bandwidth for low-latency throughput. First in class resiliency and high availability are made possible by the use of features such as Router redundancy (XRRP), IEEE 802.3ad Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) and ProCurve trunking, IEEE 802.1s Multiple Spanning Tree, and IEEE 802.1w Rapid Convergence Spanning Tree Protocol.

Standard security features included in the HP ProCurve Switch 3400cl Series include Secure Shell (SSHv2), Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), IEEE 802.1X, MAC address lockout, Secure FTP, and Secure management access. Dynamic assignment of VLANs and automatic learning are enabled through the use of the GARP VLAN Registration Protocol.
