The HP ProCurve Switch 408 is ideal for
connecting peripherals, or building small
networks, with any combination of 10 Mb and
100 Mb devices. Auto-sensing and ProCurve
Auto-MDIX are equipped on all 8 10/100
ports. The unmanaged switch design provides
dedicated bandwidth to each device and
improved network utilization through the use
of segmentation.
The HP ProCurve Switch 408 utilizes flow
control to ensure reliable communications
during full-duplex operation. Throughput to
each device is doubled (up to 200 Mbps) on
all ports through the use of
half-/full-duplex auto-negotiation. Common
cabling problems can be detected and fixed
through the use of automatic polarity
correction.
