The HP ProCurve Switch 4100gl Series offers performance, resiliency, high availability, and flexible configuration in a modular chassis. Utilizing 802.1p traffic prioritization allows for real-time traffic classification into 8 priority levels. Wire-speed switching via Fast Path Technology enables intra-module traffic for up to 31.9 million pps throughput.

Simultaneous support for 30 VLANs and complete 802.1Q (4,096 VLAN IDs) is standard in the HP ProCurve Switch 4100gl Series. Automatic learning and dynamic assignment of VLANs is made possible through the use of the Group VLAN Registration Protocol (GVRP). Support for up to 6 trunks, with 4 links per trunk as well as trunking across multiple modules is another standard feature.

Increased network uptime and faster recovery are enabled by the 802.1w Rapid Convergence Spanning Tree Protocol found standard in the HP ProCurve Switch 4100gl Series. By using a password authentication server combined with TACACS+ switch management and security administration is made much easier. Secure Shell (SSHv2) provides secure CLI remote access by encrypting all transmitted data.
